Subject: Language Arts - Reading

Objectives: at the end of the lesson students should be able to:

• identify characters in the story
• based on the story, use critical thinking to give an individual opinion of how they think the story would end

Previous Knowledge: Students should know that the characters in a story may be people or animals

Materials: Video of The Little Red Hen (Starfall.com: I'm Reading)

Introduction: Show video of the Little Red Hen

Procedure: Students listen to the story. The video is stopped just before it ends and each student is asked who the characters are and also to give their opinions of what the little red hen would or should do.

Conclusion: The final clip of the video is shown. Based on that clip identify which students would have done what the little red hen did and who did something different.
